Sreeleela is an Indian actress who has worked in different languages, especially in South Indian Cinema. She is the same actress who appeared in the “Kissik” song from the Pushpa-2 film. She was born on 14th June 2001 in Detroit, Michigan. Sree leela will now see performing in a Hindi film “Ashiqui 3” which is all set to release in 2025 Diwali. At such a young age, she has seen the fame of people who have been trying their luck for years in the industry.

Sree Leela, better known as Sreeleela, was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised by a Telugu family. However, she was brought up in Bangalore, India. Given that her maternal side is from Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, it made sense that as a child, she used to visit her grandparents pretty often. 

Her mother, Swarnalatha, is a gynaecologist based in Bangalore, whereas her father, Surapaneni Subhakara Rao, is a well-known industrialist. 

However, it was unfortunate to know that Leela was born only after their parents’ separation in 2001. 

As a child, she was interested in dance and arts performances, so she took training in Bharatnatyam.

Leela had completed her education from a local school, and went on to pursue a degree in MBBS to become a doctor. She took admission from a college in Bangalore but as of 2021, she dropped out of the college for unknown reasons.

Career

Early career years 2017-2020

Having been interested in the arts culture and in acting, Leela made her acting debut in 2017 with ‘Chitrangda’ wherein she portrayed a younger version of Sindhu Tolani’s character, Shalini Devi. 

It was A.P Arjun who had come across Leela and found her rather interesting and subsequently, he took her in to give her a leading role in the 2019 film called ‘Kiss’. By then, she was slowly gaining recognition and people had begun noticing her. She had mentioned that she wanted to start off her career in Kannada-language films because she grew up in Bangalore

It might interest you to know, that when ‘Kiss’ was being filmed back in 2017, Sreeleela was still a first year in her pre-university course, and when the movie had released – it surprised everyone as it was a box office success.

Present career 2021 to 2025

In 2021, Leela was taken in to be cast in the romantic musical film ‘Pelli SandaD’ which marked her debut in the Telugu cinema industry and she was absolutely swooning over the character she was to play. Unfortunately, the movie could not gather the attention it deserved but her acting was certainly praised. 

In 2022, she appeared in the Kannada romantic comedy named ‘By Two Love’, and the reviewers from the New Indian Express, and Deccan Herald gave her impressive and positive ratings and reviews for her acting. 

As 2023 came in, so did Leela’s new role in the movie ‘Skanda’ wherein she was paired opposite Ram Pothineni. She appeared in Bhagavanth Kesari opposite Kajal Aggarwal and Nandamuri Balakrishna. The movie went on to become one of the top-grossing Telugu films in 2023, and for her role in the movie, Leela was even nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress in Telugu. 

It seemed like 2023 was certainly her year because she also appeared in ‘Extra Ordinary Man’, and in the next year, she appeared opposite Mahesh Babu in the movie ‘Guntur Kaaram’. Her performance in the song ‘Kurchi Madathapetti’ was ‘a dream’ according to reviewers. 

She went on to perform in a special dance number ‘Kissik’ alongside Allu Arjun in Pushpa 2 – The Rule.

As 2025 is already midway, Leela appeared opposite Nithiin in the movie ‘Robinhood’ but the movie turned out to be a commercial failure.
